What traffic alternatives are left for Diemen south

Open bus lane preferably off the table
Opening the bus lane in Diemen-Zuid involves an amount of € 4.75 million. With a population of 32,000, this would cost € 148.50 per person. As a resident of Diemen, would you be willing to pay such a sum?
The local residents want a second opinion but that is not possible, there is no money for this. The coalition parties have pushed the credit through quickly before the elections. While the issue of whether or not to open up the bus lane to car traffic is still being considered by the Council of State.
The Onafhankelijke Partij Diemen feels that the coalition parties are following the board like sheep, without asking themselves what the traffic pressure will be on the Diemerbrug, Ouddiemerlaan, Bickerstraat and Arent Krijtsstraat. When the bridges open to shipping, long traffic jams already occur on Boven Rijkersloot in the south and towards the center.
The participation process of the opening of the bus lane deserves no beauty prize. As long as the stakeholders have no clear answers to their questions, we are against the opening. Such an intervention in the quality of life deserves great care.

Comment:

There are several alternatives to consider. Residents wanted to participate and not all are happy with opening the bus lane. The college did not want to make money available for a second opinion.

Practical matters still need to be considered such as zoning (if any). Costs for site preparation, presence of utilities and soil and environmental research.

  1. In the current situation, traffic passes through this residential area.
  1. When the bus lane is opened to all car traffic, fewer cars will drive past the Kruidenhof shopping center. The shopkeepers will miss out on turnover. The residential area will be spared because through traffic will take the short route.
  1. By allowing traffic to pass by the shopping center, the loss of revenue is less. The traffic turns off along the Eendenpad and can then cross the Diemer Bridge or continue along Beukenhorst to the connection over the Venser Bridge. The Boskriekoord and Boomhazelaaroord residential areas would also be spared.
  1. In this variant the road does not run along the Kruidenkof shopping center but via the bus lane. For a better flow on the Boven Rijkersloot near the Boskriekoord and Boomhazelaaroord districts, the road should be pulled straight along the water at Beukenhorst.
